Can Someone Recommend A Specific Humidifier For An Area In A House Of About 700 To 800 Square Feet.?
I now have a cool air humidifier which works with a filter that wicks the water up so the fan will blow out the moisture. I’ve put in a new filter and still I refill it only after a couple of days. It’s about 1 1/2 gallon capacity. Honeywell, 5 years old. I think it used to put out a lot more water…so I’m in the market for one that will do a much better job.
I should have added that I do not have forced air. I have hot water baseboard so cannot go through the furnace. I need a portable unit. I am wondering if the wicking filter methodology is the problem and whether there is another design that I should look for.

If you have forced air heat, a furnace type humidifier is the best option…you run a small water line to it and never have to manually fill it, just clean the screen and water box once a year. Honeywell and others make them….check with local heating contractors or repair shops. For a portable model, look for one with a larger water capacity.
